Burkholder was a four-year letterwinner in field hockey from 1982 through 1985. She was a two-time All-Mid-American Conference selection and helped the Cardinals to three straight conference championships in her final three campaigns. The three MAC crowns in 1983, 1984, and 1985 began a string of nine straight titles for Ball State and began a tradition that saw BSU win 16 league championships in 17 years. Burkholder completed her career as the school’s all-time assists leader with 38 and remains tied for second on the school’s career chart plus she ranks seventh in school history for total points with 94. Burkholder completed her BSU career with a 64-18 overall record and a 20-1 MAC mark.
