Seger spent 7 years as the director of intercollegiate athletics at Ball State after spending the previous 12 years as the women’s athletic director at BSU. She was named the school’s first-ever female athletics director in January of 1995 after the school combined its men’s and women’s athletic departments. Her appointment made her one of only four women in the country to oversee a combined NCAA Division IA athletics department.
