Hollomon will serve as the guard position coach and will assist in scouting reports, film breakdowns and in off-campus recruiting. She will be the team’s liaison for international recruiting, freshman orientation and academics, weight and conditioning, and marketing/athletic communication. She also will be responsible for team travel.
Last season, Hollomon was the post coach at Eastern Illinois where she helped guide Rachel Galligan to Ohio Valley Conference Freshman of the Year accolades. Galligan led the OVC in blocked shots during the 2005-06 season, posting 61 on the year to shatter the previous EIU single-season record of 46, which dated back to 1982.
In addition to her duties as the post coach, Hollomon served as the team’s guard coach for the 2004-05 campaign. Hollomon ’s other duties at EIU included serving as the recruiting organizer, camp coordinator, marketing liaison, academic counselor and golf outing organizer. She was also responsible for team travel arrangements and equipment orders.
Prior to joining EIU, Hollomon served as a graduate assistant coach at Baylor under 2000 Women’s Basketball Hall of Fame inductee Kim Mulkey. In her two seasons at Baylor, Hollomon helped guide the Lady Bears to a 2003-04 NCAA Tournament Sweet 16 appearance and a runner-up finish in the 2002-03 WNIT.
Hollomon also spent one year in the NCAA office as an Education Services intern, where she coordinated the Stay in Bounds silent auction and assisted with the CHAMPS/Life Skills and Continuing Education Conference.
A four-year letterwinner in women’s basketball at North Carolina A&T, Hollomon was a two-year team captain for the Aggies. She was also a recipient of the 2002 Black Coaches Association Postgraduate Scholarship and the 2002 NCAA Ethnic Minority Postgraduate Scholarship. She earned her bachelor’s degree in public relations from North Carolina A&T in 2001 and completed her master’s degree in education with a sport management emphasis from Baylor in 2004.
Hollomon's mother, Eva Patterson-Heath, is a girl’s basketball coach at Red Springs High School in North Carolina where she has compiled more than 436 wins in her 21-year career.
