Ellis Spar

Spar was hired in April 2026 at Ball State after two seasons as a graduate assistant for the Providence men's basketball team.
"Ellis was a student manager for us during my tenure at USC," Ball State head coach Chris Capko said. "I thoroughly enjoyed being around him every day and always knew, that if I was in position to hire him, I would. He is very sharp, detailed, organized and passionate about the game. He will be an incredible coach and will be an integral part of our program here at Ball State."
Prior to joining the Friars, Spar spent three years working as a student manager for the USC men's basketball team. Since 2022, Spar has worked as a summer camp coach at various collegiate institutions including Purdue, Yale, NC State, Wootten and Providence College.
Spar, a native of Hopkinton, Mass., graduated from USC in 2024 with a degree in business administration.
