2019 (Fr.): Earned first letter at Ball State … MAC All-Freshman Team ... played in 30 of Ball State's 32 matches, seeing action in 106 of a possible 126 sets ... ranked first among Ball State's regular starters with a .295 attack percentage ... scored 196 kills on the year, which ranked fifth on the team ... smashed double-digit kills in six matches, including a season-high 14 versus Bowling Green (Oct. 26) ... scored 13 kills and hit an impressive .500 (13-1-24) at Western Michigan (Nov. 8) ... hit a career-best .643 (10-1-14) at Gonzaga (Sept. 7) ... credited with a .300-or-better attack percentage in 14 matches, including seven with a .400-or-better rate of success ... ranked second on the team with 58 total blocks, including 19 solo blocks and 39 block assists ... registered a season-high six total blocks versus South Florida (Aug. 30) and tied the mark in the regular season finale versus Central Michigan (Nov. 16) ... tallied at least one block in 21 matches, with three-or-more on 10 occasions ... served up eight aces on the year, while handing out seven assists.

PHILLIPS ON PLITT: Marie may be one of the most versatile players that we have added to the program. She typically plays as a middle blocker, but she also passes, plays backrow, sets and hits at the pin. You name it, she's done it. I love that Marie is not afraid of any challenge and is willing to do whatever the team needs. She has a very high volleyball IQ and loves to compete. She is natural at attacking off one-foot as a middle, but also has the arm, quickness and IQ to play anywhere in the front row.

HIGH SCHOOL: A four-year letterwinner for her mother coach Julie Plitt at Loveland High School, Plitt helped guide the Tigers to a 22-2 record this season by smashing 229 kills, collecting 256 digs and registering 70 total blocks … the ECC Player of the Year as a junior and senior, Plitt was also a first team all-ECC selection in each of her four seasons … she earned all-state honorable mention accolades as a junior, while garnering all-district honors all four seasons, including first team honors as a junior and senior … named the team's Most Valuable Player in each of her final three seasons, while serving as team captain her final two … over her career, she helped guide the Tigers to a pair of ECC championships, with undefeated conference seasons her junior and senior years, as well as sectional and district titles her sophomore season … finished her career as the school's all-time leader in career kills (1,081), blocks (256), matches played (94), sets played (317) and attack percentage (.458) … also earned four letters in basketball, earning all-conference honorable mention honoree as a freshman.

CLUB: Has played four seasons for the Elevation Volleyball Club.

PERSONAL: Undecided on major ... born Feb. 15, 2001 ... daughter of Julie Robinson and Steven Plitt ... has two brothers; Bryce and Drew ... her father played baseball at Xavier, while her mother was on the Musketeer's volleyball team ... her brother Bryce played baseball at Xavier ... her brother Drew is a redshirt junior quarterback for the Ball State football program.

WHY BALL STATE: I chose Ball State because I loved the coaches, campus, courses offered and the great tradition of the volleyball program.
