Shane Wilkinson is in his fourth season as the administrative assistant for the Ball State women’s volleyball team.
"Shane has been with Ball State Volleyball for four years and has been, and will continue to be, an invaluable resource for the coaching staff," said BSU Head Coach Dave Boos. "He has a passion for this program and an elite work ethic. Shane’s contributions will be a significant part of Ball State Volleyball’s evolution into an elite level program."
Wilkinson handles the day-to-day technical operations for the team, which includes recording practices utilizing TiVo, editing practice and match videos, setting up and running team video sessions and inputting both Ball State and opponent matches in Data Volley. In addition, he has been running technical operations for Ball State’s summer camps for the past two years.
Outside of volleyball, Wilkinson was named the Sports Director of Ball State University’s student radio station 91.3 WCRD this past January. An on-air talent for the station since August of 2004, Wilkinson was the play-by-play broadcaster for the 2006-07 men’s basketball season.
Wilkinson, a native of Princeton, Ind., is a senior telecommunications major at Ball State and maintains a 3.31 grade-point average. In April of 2007, he was the recipient of the first annual Morry E. Mannies Ball State University Telecommunications (Sportscasting) Scholarship.
