Her beautiful lines and presentation will make an immediate positive impact on those events. Grace has a fun personality that will fit in perfectly with our team. She combines laidback and easygoing with a fierce determination for growth! She is incredible potential to grow and succeed at Ball State, and she is going to be a very successful collegiate student-athlete, both in the classroom and on the competition floor.
Career Highlights: As a level 10 gymnast, she won the all-around competition at the 2020 Jaycie Phelps Midwest Showdown with a career-best score of 37.875 … also won the beam and tied for first on floor at the meet … took 14th in the all-around at the 2019 Region 5 Level 10 Championships with a score of 36.850, which included a seventh-place effort on beam … won the beam and placed seventh in the all-around at the 2019 Indiana Level 10 State Meet … owns career-best Level 10 marks of 9.550 on vault, 9.650 on bars, 9.600 on beam, and 9.750 on floor
Why Ball State: I chose Ball State because I love the atmosphere of the campus. I also have friends that attend BSU, so I like that it’s close to home for me.
Personal: Daughter of Maggie and Kevin Sumner … has two brothers, Kyle and Ryan … first member of her family to compete in college athletics … born Feb. 18 … majoring in mathematical sciences.
