- Graduate Assistant Coach
John Behrle is entering his second year as the graduate assistant coach of the Ball State women’s gymnastics team.
Prior to joining the Cardinals’ staff, Behrle was an assistant women’s coach at the Philadelphia Gymnastics Center from June 2003 to September 2005. He also spent four months as the head boys coach at the Gymnastics Training Center in Holliston, Mass., in the summer of 2001.
Behrle’s coaching experience also includes five years of work with inner city youth gymnastics clinics and three years of coaching inner city high school cheerleading squads while at Temple.
In addition to his coaching experience, Behrle was a member of the Philadelphia 76ers’ Hip Hop Hare-Raisers, serving as an extreme basketball performer at home games and community events. In October of 2005, he was a member of the International Stunt Association in Shanghai, China, working as a gymnastics performer at Euro-American, a festival performer and a mascot for the International Snow Flyers.
A four-year letterwinner at Temple, Behrle competed in men’s gymnastics, where he was an NCAA National Championship Qualifier in the floor exercise and the pommel horse. A Bill Braverman Award winner, Behrle was co-captain of the team his senior year. As a junior, he was a conference finalist at the ECAC Championships in the floor exercise.
Behrle graduated from Temple in 2005 with a degree in Film and Media Arts.
