Entering his fifth season as head coach in 2026-27, head coach Cameron Andry has already helped rewrite the program’s record book.
The Cardinals have set a new team scoring average in each of the past three seasons, including going sub-300 for the first time in program history at 299.24 during the 2025-26 campaign.
Andry’s 2023-24 squad started the run with a program-best 303.61 mark, nearly three strokes better than the previous record of 306.59 set in 2020-21. That effort was topped again in 2024-25, with the team finishing at 301.66.
His squads have also set the team standards for lowest team round, lowest 36-hole total and lowest 54-hole score numerous times. The latest was at the 2025-26 Diamante Intercollegiate where the Cardinals shot -6 (282) in the first round, -2 (574) over the first 36 holes and -2 (862) over 54 holes. It was the first time in program history Ball State finished a tournament below par.
During the 2024-25 season, Andry helped then-junior Jasmine Driscoll become just the third player in program history to earn both medalist honors at the Mid-American Conference Championship and an individual berth to the NCAA Regional.
Andry has also guided the Cardinals to four tournament wins, while helping his student-athletes earn one First Team All-MAC selection, two Second Team All-MAC honors and seven MAC Golfer of the Week recognitions.
Off the course, the Cardinals have excelled academically. Most notably, the squad earned the 2024-25 WGCA All-Scholar Team GPA Award for holding the highest cumulative team GPA in the nation.
Under Andry, the program’s student-athletes have collected 25 WGCA All-American Scholar honors, 15 Academic All-MAC accolades and eight CSC Academic All-District awards.
The women’s golf program has also led all Ball State athletic teams in term GPA in five of the last eight semesters and has maintained a team GPA of 3.72 or higher in each semester under Andry’s leadership.
Prior to taking over the Ball State program, Andry spent the last 11 seasons at Taylor University where he served as the head coach for the men’s and women’s golf programs.
Andry led both the men’s and women’s golf programs at Taylor to national prominence, including multiple top-10 finishes at the NAIA National Championship. Under Andry’s guidance the Taylor men’s golf program captured six consecutive Crossroads League titles from 2016 to 2022 while the Taylor women’s program claimed four straight Crossroads League championships from 2017 to 2021.
In 11 seasons at Taylor, Andry’s teams accumulated a staggering 79 tournament titles, including ten conference championships. Andry recruited and developed a total of 46 first-team All-Crossroads League players, including seven Crossroads League Player of the Year honorees. Additionally, Taylor players earned 14 NAIA All-American honors under Andry’s guidance.
A native of Paoli, Indiana and graduate of Ball State, Andry’s reputation as a program builder is well-earned. When Andry took over the Taylor men’s program in the fall of 2010 the Trojans held a national GolfStat ranking of 118. In just seven seasons, Andry established Taylor as a national presence as the Trojans earned a 7th place finish at the NAIA National Championship and earned a No. 8 national GolfStat ranking at the conclusion of the 2017-2018 season.
Andry’s program building prowess was equally evident with the Taylor women’s program as Andry oversaw the birth of the Taylor women’s golf program in 2012 and led the program to a national runner-up finish in the 2021 NAIA National Championship, the culmination of a remarkable program build from the ground up.
Recognized by his peers as one of the best young coaches in college golf, Andry was named the Crossroads League Coach of the Year a total of ten times, including in 2012 following his first season at the helm of the TU men’s program. Additionally, Andry was named the GCAA North Region Coach of the Year on three occasions and was a semi-finalist for the GCAA NAIA National Coach of the Year award in three different seasons.
A strong believer in the use of technology to improve as a golfer, Andry incorporates technology into many of the team's practices.
Andry served as a caddy at the Pete Dye Course in French Lick, Indiana during his college years. He earned All-Conference honors in both his junior and senior seasons at Paoli High School and advanced to the regional in the IHSAA tournament.
