Martinez has spent her European career playing for the Granada Más Baloncesta, competing for a multitude of age categories each year. Martinez has been a member of the senior team (18 and over) since the age of 14. She has participated in three promotions in the LF2 national leagues. This past season, Martinez played in the LF2 national league. Martinez was selected to play for all the provincial teams of her province of Granada along with being chosen to compete with the Andalusian team where she won a bronze medal in the Spanish Championship.

"Laura is the perfect, versatile guard in our system," Sallee said. "She is a playmaker and an elite shooter. She is always ready on every catch and hunts her opportunities. Her length will allow her to play in a lot of different places in our offense and will also make her a very effective defender. She has been playing at an elite level in Spain and will be ready to go from day 1. Laura is excited to be a part of our program, and we are pumped to be able to call her a Cardinal."
