Ball State Sports Link (VIDEO) (Dec. 10, 2024): From the field to the skies, football and aviation bring Luke Dalton and his family closer
Third-year Cardinal is a team leader and a top scholar-athlete ... always in the mix to find a spot in the offensive line rotation ... "he is always one of the leaders in the room despite not being a starter," said coach Mike Uremovich. "He is smart enough to play any position on the line."
2025 (R-Jr.): Top reserve at offensive guard, but did not see game action.
2024 (R-So.): Appeared in four games including a start against Bowling Green (Nov. 23) at right guard ... sustained a knee injury in that game, however and did not participate in the season finale at Ohio.
BEFORE BALL STATE: A transfer from Cincinnati, Dalton was a redshirt in 2022 and did not see playing time in 2023 as a redshirt freshman …
HIGH SCHOOL: Out of Marian Central Catholic High School, Dalton was ranked the No. 3 offensive lineman in the Chicago area by the Chicago Sun-Times ... he was twice named to the IHSA Class 4A All-State Team and was the East Suburban Catholic Conference/Chicago Catholic League Lineman of the Year as a senior ... consensus three-star prospect who was one of the Top 25 recruits in the state of Illinois ... drew other offers out of high school from Arizona State, Kansas, Illinois, Iowa and Nebraska.
PERSONAL: Son of Lisa and Chris ... he is a twin to his sister Emma ... mom is a grad from Ball State ... a favorite musician is Zach Bryan ... is working to become a 3rd generation pilot ... owns his pilot's license and frequently flies on weekends ... hopes to begin a career in aviation or criminal justice.
