Came to Ball State as a quarterback but experimented in spring and summer of 2023 with conversion to h-back and tight end ... head coach Mike Neu said at the time: "He's a football player." But when the 2023 season rolled around, Leffler was back in place as a back-up and scout team QB ... came off the bench in late duty last season at Miami (Fla.) and James Madison.
2024 (R-So.): Played in two games as a reserve quarterback, at Miami (Fla.) and at James Madison, completing 2 of 6 passes for 6 yards.
2023 (R-Fr.): Saw primary duty as a scout-team quarterback, after movement during spring and summer as an h-back and tight end.
2022 (Fr.): Redshirt season, did not see action.
HIGH SCHOOL: Competed at Roncalli High School ... labeled a 2-star prospect by 247 Sports ... became the school's all-time leading passer, passing touchdown record holder and total offensive years career record holder ... had over 4,000 career passing yards and 63 career touchdown passes ... guided team to 25-game winning streak ... voted a team captain ... three-time section and regional champion ... led team to state title.
