Coordinator of the day-to day-recruiting operations for the Ball State Football program, which includes duties such as prospect evaluations, recruit database management, roster management, official/unofficial visits, social media coordinator, summer camp coordinator, high school coach relations and pro scout liaison.
In 2017, Clark coordinated the signing of the best recruiting class in Ball State football history based on 247Sports’ Mid-American Conference recruiting rankings. The 2017 signing class featured double-digit 3-star recruits from seven different states.
Clark came to Ball State in 2013 as the Assistant Director of Football Operations. After one season with the Cardinals, he was promoted to the position he now holds – Director of Player Personnel and On-Campus Recruiting. Besides recruiting, Clark has also assisted with community service outreach, advance game operations and MAC officials liaison. The Cardinals have sent six players to the National Football League during Clark’s tenure. That list is headlined by New Orleans Saints wide receiver Willie Snead.
In 2011, Clark became a defensive graduate assistant at Valdosta State University in Valdosta, Georgia. In his second season with the Blazers, he helped coach the team to a NCAA Division II National Championship. Clark was instrumental during the 2012 season with recruiting efforts – prospect evaluations, campus visits and off-campus recruiting. He recruited or helped coach 10 former Valdosta State players who played or currently plays in the NFL. That list includes Ryan Schraeder, Seantavius Jones, Greg Reid, Cedric O’Neal, Edmund Kugbila and Lawrence Virgil.
Clark’s first coaching job came in 2009 as a defensive assistant at national junior college powerhouse, Butler Community College, in El Dorado, Kansas. After one season with the Grizzlies, he was promoted to full-time running backs coach. In 2010, Clark helped coach Butler to a runner-up finish at the National Junior College Athletic Association (NJCAA) national championship. During his time at Butler, Clark recruited or helped coach seven players who played or currently plays in the National Football League including Ryan Schraeder, Zach Mettenberger and Tank Carradine.
A native of Winchester, Indiana, Clark is a 2009 graduate of Earlham College where he earned a bachelor’s degree in business and non-profit management. He earned a master’s degree in public administration from Valdosta State University in 2012. Clark graduated from Winchester High School in 2005. Born June 14, 1986, Clark is married to the former Courtney McCormick of Albany, Indiana.
