Coaching Notes:
Six linemen earned Academic All-MAC honors in 2018 … Ball State tallied a program-record 652 yards of offense in the 2018 season opener … helped Danny Pinter make the transition from tight end to right tackle in 2018 … injuries forced the Cardinals to use seven different starting offensive lines in 2017 … five linemen posted their first collegiate start in 2017 … the 2016 Ball State offense averaged 220 rushing yards per game, its highest average since 1978 (238.6 ypg) … Ball State has rushed for more than 300 yards three times under DeVan, including a high of 356 yards at Buffalo in 2016.
Other Notes:
Played in the NFL for five seasons … started 26 of the 40 games he appeared in between 2009-12 with the Indianapolis Colts, Philadelphia Eagles and the Tennessee Titans … made four postseason starts with Indianapolis, including Super Bowl XLIV at right guard … four-year (2004-07) letterman at center at Oregon State, starting 38 games … was a member of three bowl-winning teams for the Beavers … made the All-Pac-10 second team in 2006 as a junior and was honorable mention in 2005 and 2007 … four-time Pac-10 All-Academic honorable mention selection.
