Coaching Notes:
Three of Ball State’s top five tacklers in 2017 were linebackers … helped senior Sean Wiggins earn All-MAC accolades … Ball State’s top two tacklers in 2016 were linebackers – Wiggins (109) and Aaron Taylor (85) … before arriving at Ball State, Curtis was the defensive coordinator at John Curtis Christian where he specialized in linebackers and special teams … helped lead John Curtis to 13 state championships and one national title (2012) … also served as John Curtis Christian's head baseball coach from 2006-15 … won three state titles as baseball coach, most recently in 2015 … three-time Louisiana High School Baseball Coach of the Year (2015, 2011, 2008).

Played collegiate football at Tulane under coach Buddy Teevens (1994-95) and Mississippi State under Jackie Sherrill (1991-93) … team captain at Tulane as a senior.
