NOTES: Led Ball State's defense to a ranking of fourth in the Mid-American Conference in scoring defense, while the Cardinals also ranked seventh in the nation in turnovers gained (30) and ninth nationally in turnover margin (+1.0) in 2013 . . . coached Ben Ingle to All-Mid-American Conference Second-Team honors in 2013 . . . coached linebackers Travis Freeman and defensive end Jonathan Newsome to All-Mid-American Conference Second-Team honors in 2012 plus had Nathan Ollie (defensive tackle) and Eric Patterson (defensive back) named to the third team . . . served as the defensive coordinator and linebackers coach for Ball State head coach Pete Lembo at Elon from 2006-10, and added the title of assistant head coach for the 2010 season . . . also served on Coach Lembo's staff at Lehigh in 2005 . . .
