Hood anchors an offensive line with three returning starters ... Hood's 20 career starts are tops on the Ball State roster entering the 2026 season ... impressive pass and run blocking skill with legitimate 6-foot-10 height ... "We're really strong at our tackle positions," said Mike Uremovich, referring to Hood and bookend starter Tristan Cook. "Chris has improved a ton. He probably could have gone somewhere [in the portal] and I'm really glad he's here." ... two-year starter has twice earned Academic All-MAC and academic all-district honors, and twice has been recognized as a preseason All-MAC honoree by national publications.

2025 (R-Jr.): Started all 12 games at offensive tackle, working opposite Tristan Cook at right tackle … Academic All-America nominee.

2024 (R-So.): Made nine appearances on the Cardinals’ offensive line, including eight starts ... starting left tackle most of the season until a shift to right guard in the season finale against Ohio … Academic All-America nominee.

2023 (R-Fr.): Lone appearance came in a win over Kent State (Nov. 18) ... earned a redshirt season.

2022 (Fr.): Did not see action.

HIGH SCHOOL: Four-year letterwinner at East Noble as an offensive lineman … played for head coach Luke Amstutz … tabbed as fifth-best offensive tackle prospect in the state by 247Sports … led team to 38-10 record during four-year span … chosen as a team captain during senior season … selected First Team All-Conference as a junior and season and Second Team All-Conference as a sophomore … team was state runner-up during sophomore year and conference champions freshman and sophomore campaigns … named the team's lineman of the year during junior and senior seasons … was a three-year letterwinner in both basketball and track.
