Ball State Daily News (Oct. 3, 2025): Cards Kick Cancer: The Story Behind the Ball State Specialists' Cause
Ball State long-snapper returns for his fifth college season ... part of a tight-knit specialty unit with whom he shared a 2026 Chirpies Award as the "Heart of the Cardinal" ... Britton spearheaded Ball State's "Cards Kick Cancer" initiative in 2025 to raise money to fight pediatric cancer ... Cardinals raised nearly $3,000 by accepting pledges for every extra point or field goal they scored as a kicking unit ... initiative was inspired by Britton, whose younger brother, Behren, is a survivor of acute lymphoblastic leukemia ... aside from the "Cards Kick Cancer" initiative, Britton also joins placekicker Carson Holmer and punter/holder Cole Stumbaugh while serving frequently in the community ... they participate with Ball State’s Student-Athlete Advisory Council (SAAC) on various community initiatives, and on their own they combined to provide community services throughout Muncie ... they shoveled snow during the winter months, and made themselves available for other odd jobs, including moving and setup for a new bakery in nearby Yorktown ... for their efforts, the special-teams trio earned the Heart of the Cardinal Award at Ball State SportsLink's 2026 Chirpies Awards Show, by effectively and enthusiastically representing the heart of a Cardinal.
2025 (R-Jr.): Ball State's starting long-snapper in every game ... made every snap on field goal tries, PATs and punts throughout the 12-game season.
2023 (R-Fr.) & 2024 (R-So.): Reserve long-snapper dressed for all 24 games, but saw no action behind starter Tucker Dunn.
2022 (Fr.): Made his college debut at Toledo, appearing in just one game.
HIGH SCHOOL: Competed at New Albany High School and was a three-year letterwinner ... rated a 4.5 star long snapper by the Kohl's Kicking Camp ... guided team to 12-1 record as a senior ... also played left tackle and was an honorable mention all-conference choice ... was perfect on all snaps.
PERSONAL: Son of Robert and Monique Britton ... has two siblings ... father, Robert, played football at Cumberland ... Ball State's "Cards Kick Cancer" initiative was inspired by younger brother Baron, a survivor of acute lymphoblastic leukemia.
