MUNCIE, Ind. - - Powered by four players with double-digit kills, the Ball State women's volleyball team closed a challenging week with a 3-1 (25-14, 23-25, 25-18, 25-14) victory over IU Indy Saturday evening inside Worthen Arena.

In its first of two senior celebrations on the season, the Cardinals (9-2) hit .346 (61-15-133) as a team led by the efforts of senior opposite Madison Buckley and senior middle Camryn Wise.

Buckley led all players with 13 kills, while connecting for a .478 (13-2-23) rate of success. Wise was not far behind, blasting 10 kills and hitting .500 (10-2-16). Both would also tally three total blocks to help Ball State limit the Jaguars (5-8) attack to a .142 (44-25-134) rate of success.

Senior setter Lindsey Green and senior middle Gwen Crull would also play significant roles in the victory. Green dished out a team-high 28 assists and fell one dig shy of a double-double with nine. Crull led all players with five total blocks and blasted nine kills to go along with a .500 (9-1-16) attack percentage.

Also seeing action on the night for the Cardinals was senior defensive specialist Allie Wuestenfeld, entering to serve some key points in the first and final sets.

Along with the contributions of its senior class, junior outside Ava Smith was credited with 12 kills, while junior opposite Tiffany Snook reached double-digit kills for the fifth straight match with 11. Snook also hit .458 (11-0-24) in the win.

Helping Green dish the rock was sophomore setter Reese Axness who finished the contest with 18 assists and six digs. Junior libero Sophie Ledbetter led the Ball State backcourt with 15 digs.

Rounding out Ball State's key contributors was freshman outside Mallory Pike with five kills, a career-high 10 digs and a .364 (5-1-11) attack percentage after entering late in the second set.

Bailey Sinish led the IU Indy attack with 12 kills, while adding 12 digs for the match's lone double-double. Laura Roeder collected a team-high 13 digs, while Grace Purichia dished out a match-best 36.

Up next for the Ball State women's volleyball team will be the start of #MACtion with the Cardinals hosting Western Michigan Friday (Sept. 25) and Saturday (Sept. 26) inside Worthen Arena.

Friday's contest will be Country Night with the first 125 Ball State students and first 125 general fans in attendance will receive a free Ball State women's volleyball bandana. Saturday's contest will be First Responders Day with all first responders receiving free admission to the match.
