Szymanski Earns Another MAC Specialist of the Week Honor

CLEVELAND - - For the fourth time this season, and the sixth time in her career, Ball State junior gymnast Ashley Szymanski has been named the Mid-American Conference Specialist of the Week.

At last Saturday's Maryland Quad, Szymanski tied for event wins on bars (9.900) and beam (9.875) to help the Cardinals score a season-high 195.975.

On bars, it was her sixth event win of the season and fifth time she has scored at least a 9.900 this year. It was also her sixth beam win of the season and her fourth score of 9.875-or-higher on the apparatus.

Entering Friday's regular season finale at Central Michigan, Szymanski ranks first in the MAC in bars NQS (9.865) and second in the league in bars NQS (9.885). Her bars mark also ranks 32nd nationally, while her beam mark is 65th among all NCAA Division I gymnasts.
