Diving Shows Strong Effort at Miami Invite

OXFORD, Ohio. – The Ball State men's and women's diving teams ended their regular seasons on day two of the Miami (OH) Invitational, showing strong performances inside the Corwin M. Nixon Aquatic Center.
On the men's side, senior Porter Brovont finished on top of the 1-meter board, placing first with a career-best score of 321.90. Brovont surpassed his own seventh-best score in program history (321.15) which he set at House of Champions earlier this season (Nov. 20).
Junior Zach Shaddy placed fourth on 1M (287.70) and fifth on the 3M (297.00). Shaddy was followed on the 3M by Ryan Farmer, who finished sixth with a score of 279.50. Farmer also finished 10th on 1M with a score of 214.55
Rounding out the men's performances on the 1M board Saturday were Mitchell Mauck who placed seventh (265.65) and Emilio Perez who placed eighth (232.00).
On the women's side, Ella Penny placed 15th on 1M (206.60), followed by Hannah Justice in 18th (198.40) and Ava Pavich in 20th (166.60). Pavich also finished 17th on the 3M, scoring 161.25.
The men's and women's programs now enter preparations for the Mid-American and Missouri Valley Conference Championships (Feb. 25-28). The men compete at the Deaconess Aquatic Center in Evansville, Ind. while the while travel to Akron, Ohio for competition at the Ocasek Natatorium.
