Middleton Named MAC Gymnast of the Week

CLEVELAND - - For her effort in Ball State's meets at Missouri and Western Michigan last week, senior Zoe Middletonhas been named the Mid-American Conference Gymnast of the Week.
Middleton turned in a pair of solid all-around efforts last week, capped by winning the all-around title with a score of 39.225 in Sunday's dual at Western Michigan. Middleton also tied for individual title on vault at WMU with a score of 9.850.
Prior to the league showdown, Middleton scored 39.125 in the all-around at the Mizzou Quad, including tying for fifth on floor with a season-best score of 9.900. Overall, all eight of Middleton's performances counted in the final team score, with six of her routines scoring 9.800-or-better.
Middleton, who was named MAC Specialist of the Week for the first time in her career earlier this season, currently ranks second in the MAC in all-around NQS at 38.860. She is also sixth in the league in both bars (9.795) and beam (9.765) NQS, while ranking ninth on floor (9.780).
The Ball State gymnastics team returns to action Friday (Feb 27) at 7 p.m. when it competes at the Pittsburgh Quad. Joining the Cardinals and host Panthers will be Temple and Towson.
