Luster Named MAC Offensive Player of the Week, Ball State's First Two-Time Winner Since Carson Steele
October 19, 2026 | Football
MUNCIE, Ind. – Keldric Luster spearheaded Ball State's rousing 32-31 overtime win at Bowling Green last Saturday, for what was the Cardinals' first road win since 2024. For his efforts, Luster has been named the Mid-American Conference Offensive Player of the Week, for the second time this year. He is the Cardinals' first two-time winner in a single season since Carson Steele won the award twice in 2022.
Luster ran for a 28-yard touchdown and collected 125 rushing yards, the fourth-best figure ever by a Ball State QB. He threw for 195 yards on 16-of-24 passing with his lone passing TD, as time expired, the dagger that thwarted Bowling Green's last-minute comeback. His 2-point conversation pass sealed Ball State's first road win since 2024.
Luster amassed 320 yards in total offense, and collected the first rushing touchdown of his career.
Ball State resumes its schedule this Saturday with a homecoming date with first-year MAC member Sacramento State. The Hornets and Cardinals kick off at 3:30 p.m.
Season tickets and premium seats for 2026 home games remain available, and single-game tickets are on-sale now at BallStateSports.com/FBTickets or by calling 1-888-BSU-TICKET. Single-game tickets for the Sac State homecoming matchup are on sale now.
