New Spirit Store, Expanded Food Trucks and Payment Options, and Turf & Stadium Enhancements Highlight Fan Experience Upgrades for 2025 Ball State Football

MUNCIE, Ind. – Ball State Football has opened its second century of football, and when fans enter the gates at Scheumann Stadium for the first time on Saturday, Sept. 13, they will be greeted by a host of new features and amenities to heighten their experience while cheering on the Cardinals. Kickoff for next week's game is slated for 2 p.m., with tailgate lots open at 10 a.m.
Single-game tickets for next week's Family Weekend home date with New Hampshire are available HERE.
Graphics and other stadium enhancements, including new turf that was installed last May, are the largest visual improvements that fans will see. Before fans even enter the stadium, new pay convenience has been installed by the Ball State ticketing staff, allowing for Apple Pay and Samsung Pay options at the ticket office, for fans who prefer digital transactions with their phones.
Upon entering the venue, the biggest additions to the gameday experience are expanded merchandise and food offerings, both of which are fan favorites at any college or pro sports event!
Your one-stop stadium shop for all your favorite Cardinals gear, a new Barnes & Noble Spirit Store will be located at the northwest corner of the stadium complex, just inside Gate 1. What better way to show off that new gear than to engage with friends and family with some great food!
An expanded array of food trucks serving gourmet delights will circle the inside perimeter of Scheumann Stadium, ranging from doughnuts to barbeque; and chicken to ice cream and frozen treats. Supplementing stadium concessions stands will be at least eight active food trucks inside the venue for every game – expanding culinary options while minimizing lines and wait time. Apple Pay and Samsung Pay digital purchasing options are also available at all concession stands, the B&N Spirit Store and most food trucks.
A clear bag policy was initiated for all Ball State sports venues beginning in August. That service, along with new pay options and new merchandise and food choices are aimed at elevating a fan's experience when they visit Scheumann Stadium.
"As we improve our gameday operations, this season we're focused on making it easier to enter the stadium and quicker to grab food or gear," said Jeff Mitchell, now in his third year as Ball State's Director of Athletics. "By expanding choices and adding convenient payment options, we're removing barriers so fans can spend more time enjoying the game and cheering on the Cardinals."
Also new for 2025 football games is a consistent time frame for tailgating, with parking lots opened four hours before kickoff for every game. Stadium entrances still open 90 minutes before game time.
The Ball State band will continue to frolic with fans in tailgate lots prior to kickoff, and fans will always be encouraged to cheer the Cardinals team as they arrive to the stadium as part of the Cardinal Walk. One note for fans on the Cardinal Walk – that walk into the stadium begins 15 minutes sooner this year – now 2 hours and 15 minutes prior to kickoff.
A central hub of pregame activity remains intact with CharlieTown tailgates taking place surrounding the Ball State Alumni Center – welcoming alumni, parents and fans of all ages with games, prizes, pageantry, music and special guests before the first three home games. Woof Boom broadcast partners WLBC Radio and WMUN Radio both will be active participants prior to Cardinals games, including the second year of a live pregame show broadcast from CharlieTown, as local sports personality Mark Foerster talks with featured guests, during the 60 minutes leading into the Ball State radio pregame show.
Tickets are available for all five Ball State home football games, and single-game premium suites are available, too, with enhanced amenities for small groups or corporate outings.
