
WVB Earns Ninth Consecutive AVCA Team Academic Award

LEXINGTON, Ky. - - The Ball State women's volleyball program was one of a record number of more than 1,450 collegiate and high school volleyball teams nationwide to earn the American Volleyball Coaches Association (AVCA) Team Academic Award sponsored by INTENT for the 2024-25 season.

The Cardinals, who claimed the honor for the ninth straight season and the 15th time overall, also garnered Team Academic Honor Roll status after placing in the top 20% of team GPAs from the 233 NCAA Division I programs to receive the honor.

Overall, Ball State's student-athletes finished the 2024-25 academic year with a 3.71 team GPA. In addition, 15 of the Cardinals' 17 countable student-athletes maintained at least a 3.50 GPA during the school year, with sophomore Reese Baker, sophomore Lindsey Green, freshman Sophie Ledbetter and senior Megan Wielonski all boasting perfect 4.00 GPAs.

The award, which was initiated in the 1992-93 academic year, honors collegiate and high school volleyball programs which display excellence in the classroom during the school year by maintaining at least a 3.30 cumulative team grade point average on a 4.0 scale or a 4.10 cumulative team GPA on a 5.0 scale.

Ball State, which will be looking for its sixth postseason bid in eight seasons, opens its 2025 home slate Saturday, Aug. 23 with a 2 p.m. exhibition match versus Cedarville University.

Overall, the Cardinals will play 12 regular season matches in Worthen Arena during the upcoming season, looking to build upon its 324-100 (.764) all-time record in the venue.

Season tickets are currently on sale and can be purchased by CLICKING HERE. Women's volleyball season tickets are $54 for Adults and $19 for Youth (18-and-under). Fans can also purchase Men's and Women's Volleyball combined season tickets for $89 for Adults and $30 for Youth (18-and-under). Single match tickets will go on sale in early August.
