May 28, 2025 | Men's Basketball
The Ball State men's basketball team has announced the signing of Long Beach State transfer Cam Denson in advance of the 2025-26 season.
A 6-foot-7 guard/forward out of Compton, Calif., Denson started in 15 of 30 games played last season for the Beach and averaged 4.8 points and 3.2 rebounds in 18.6 minutes per game. Denson put up a season-best 15 points and nine rebounds against Portland on Nov. 16 and scored in double figures four times in 2024-25.
Denson shot 47.0 percent from the field including 35.3 percent from distance last season at Long Beach State. The graduate student played the previous two seasons at Pacific where he averaged 8.5 points and a team-high 4.6 rebounds per game in 2023-24. Denson started his collegiate experience with two seasons of junior college basketball, including a 2021-22 campaign at Triton Community College where he averaged 10.1 points and 7.2 rebounds per game to lead his team to a 30-6 record.
Denson arrives in Muncie with 542 points and 351 rebounds in his NCAA Division I career.
Denson is Ball State's sixth incoming transfer of the offseason joining Kayden Fish from Iowa State, Juwan Maxey from Youngstown State, Devon Barnes from UTEP, Elmore James from Ohio, and Armoni Zeigler from Saint Peter's. Clayton, N.C., high school forward Preston Copeland signed with the Cardinals back in November.
