Nettles Named MAC Field Athlete of the Week

CLEVELAND, Ohio – After a dominate performance in the heptathlon at the Gibson Invitational last weekend, the Mid-American Conference has announced Kenli Nettles as the Women's Outdoor Field Athlete of the Week.

For her first heptathlon of the season, Nettles opened with a big win, collecting a personal best score of 5,517 points. In a seven-event competition, Nettles marked two other PRs after throwing 11.51 meters in the shot put and finishing in 24.65 in the 200-meter dash. Her new score is the 3rd-best in Ball State history and a 300+ point improvement over her previous mark.

Nettles now leads the MAC in this event and is ranked 13^th in NCAA.

Ball State track and field will be back in action beginning on Friday (Apr. 25) for UCF's Knights Invitational in Orlando, Florida.
