Nettles Named MAC Field Athlete of the Week

CLEVELAND, Ohio – After a dominate performance in the heptathlon at the Gibson Invitational last weekend, the Mid-American Conference has announced Kenli Nettles as the Women's Outdoor Field Athlete of the Week.Â
For her first heptathlon of the season, Nettles opened with a big win, collecting a personal best score of 5,517 points. In a seven-event competition, Nettles marked two other PRs after throwing 11.51 meters in the shot put and finishing in 24.65 in the 200-meter dash. Her new score is the 3rd-best in Ball State history and a 300+ point improvement over her previous mark.
Nettles now leads the MAC in this event and is ranked 13th in NCAA.Â
Ball State track and field will be back in action beginning on Friday (Apr. 25) for UCF's Knights Invitational in Orlando, Florida.Â
