Hill and Sparks Honorable Mention All-MAC

Jermahri Hill and Payton Sparks have been named Honorable Mention All-MAC by the Mid-American Conference office, the league announced Wednesday morning.
Hill, a junior from Bessemer, Ala., led the Cardinals in scoring (15.8 points per game) and assists (3.2 per game) while finishing third in rebounding (5.1 per game) in his first season in Muncie. The guard is fifth in the conference in total points (489), first in free throw attempts (207) and third in free throws made (207).
Hill's season was highlighted by a game-winning dunk in the closing seconds of overtime in an 86-84 win over Eastern Michigan on Feb. 11. The junior also made the assists on Sparks' go-ahead and-1 in the final seconds of Ball State's 63-61 win against Eastern Kentucky on Nov. 25 in Florida.
Sparks finished the campaign averaging 12.6 points per game and 7.7 rebounds per game. The senior from Winchester, Ind., led the league in rebounding, and his numbers improved against MAC teams (14.1 points per game, 8.9 rebounds per game).
This is the third season Sparks has won a postseason honor from the conference after being named Second Team All-MAC in 2023 and Third Team All-MAC and the MAC Freshman of the Year in 2022. Sparks wrapped up his collegiate career ranking 23rd in career points (1,220) in Ball State history, 9th in rebounding (771), 10th in blocks (64), 5th in free throws made (387) and 3rd in field goal percentage (.568).
