
Men's S&D Open MVC Championships With a Program Record

OXFORD, Ohio – The men's swimming and diving program opened the 2025 Missouri Valley Conference Championships with a program record Wednesday evening at the Miami Aquatic Center.
The 800 freestyle relay team of Jacob Siewers, Dominick Perkowski, Malcolm Slater and Nathan Harper set the first program record of the week with a finishing time of 6:34.49, placing fourth in the event. Siewers and Slater were also part of the 800 freestyle relay team that set the previous program record at last year's Mid-American Conference Championships with a time of 6:36.72.
Ball State started the day roughly 45 minutes prior with another fourth-place finish in the 200 medley relay (1:28.03), as the team of Ethan Pheifer, Aidan Biddle, AJ Friend and Mason Young put together the fourth-fastest time in program history, taking 1.64 seconds off the Cardinals' previous season-fastest time of 1:29.67.
At the end of opening day, The Cardinals are placed fourth out of seven teams with a total of 60 points, while Southern Illinois and Missouri State share the top spot with 72.
The MVC Championships continue Thursday with three individual swimming events, 1-meter diving and the 400 medley relay. Prelims starts at 10:30 a.m. ET / 9:30 a.m. CT and finals at 5 p.m. ET / 4 p.m. CT.
