Men's Basketball Signs Guard Amari Barrett to 2026 Class

The Ball State men's basketball team and head coach Michael Lewis have announced the signing of Amari Barrett to the program.
A 6-foot-4 guard from Edmond, Okla., Barrett was a second team All-State selection as a junior at Millwood High School. The three-time team captain averaged 18 points, 10 rebounds and 4 assists per game to lead his team to a Class 3A State Championship and 22-5 record in 2024-25.
Barrett averaged 14 points, 7 rebounds and 3 assists per game as a sophomore for a team that finished as state runner-up in the 2023-24 season.
"I'm really excited about adding Amari to our program," Lewis said. "I think he, much like some of the guards we have on our team right now, has athleticism, versatility, quickness, length, and a really competitive spirit which we value in our program."
Barrett has been named the Greater Metro Athletic Conference Defensive Player of the Year twice.
Academically, Barrett is a National Honor Society member and plans to major in business at Ball State when enrolling prior to the 2026-27 season.
