
Ledbetter and Tyler Earn MAC Volleyball Weekly Honors

CLEVELANDÂ - - For their role in helping the Ball State women's volleyball team go 3-0 in Mid-American Conference play last week, sophomore libero Sophie Ledbetter was named the MAC Defensive Player of the Week and sophomore outside Carson Tyler earned MAC Offensive Player of the Week honors.

Ledbetter, who earns MAC Defensive Player of the Week honors for the first time this season and the second time in her career, led the Ball State defense and ranked fourth in the league with a 4.42 digs-per-set average last week. She recorded double-digit digs in all three matches last week, including 21 in Saturday's four-set victory over Toledo. She also served up four aces over the three wins, with three coming in Saturday's finale.

Tyler, who earns MAC Offensive Player of the Week honors for the second time this season and the third time in her career, led all MAC players with 57 kills and a 4.75 kill-per-set average. In fact, her career-high 29 kills in Friday's five-set win over Toledo were the most in a MAC match this season and the second-most by a MAC player in a match this season.

Tyler hit .272 (57-17-147) last week and has smashed double-digit kills in all 19 matches this season and in 25 straight outings, counting the final six matches last season. Along with her solid offensive play, Tyler turned in a pair of double-doubles, while averaging 2.17 digs-per-set for the week. She also served up a team-best six aces and collected seven total blocks.
The Ball State women's volleyball team enters a key series at defending MAC regular season champion versus Bowling Green with an 11-8 (7-0 MAC) record. The Falcons are 12-7 (6-1 MAC) and will host the Cardinals at 6 p.m. Thursday and Friday at the Stroh Center, the site of the 2025 MAC Volleyball Championship.
