Ruthberg Named MAC Gymnast of the Week

CLEVELAND - - For her performance at Missouri's Beauty and the Beast night last Friday, Ball State graduate all-around specialist Hannah Ruthberg has been named the Mid-American Conference Gymnast of the Week.

Ruthberg, who earns the honor for the first time this season and the third time in her collegiate career, placed second in the all-around at Mizzou Arena with a score of 39.075. It was the best all-around score turned in by a MAC gymnast opening weekend and currently ranks 22nd nationally.

She started the competition be leading the Cardinals and placing third overall with a 9.800 on beam. In her second rotation, Ruthberg tied for team-high honors with a 9.775 on floor.

Ruthberg added another team-high score of 9.750 on vault, before ending the night with a 9.750 on bars.

The Ball State gymnastics team opens the home portion of its 2025 campaign Sunday (Jan. 12) when it hosts Illinois, SEMO and Wisconsin-Eau Claire for the Ball State Quad. Action is set to begin at 1 p.m. in Worthen Arena.
