Szymanski Named MAC Specialist of the Week

CLEVELAND - - For her effort on bars and beam at last Sunday's Ball State Tri, sophomore Ashley Szymanski has been named the Mid-American Conference Specialist of the Week.
Szymanski tied for the highest individual score of the meet by winning the bars competition with her third 9.875 on the apparatus this season. It was her eighth career bars victory and helped Ball State earn a season-high team score of 195.550 and head-to-head wins over both Western Michigan (194.675) and Wilberforce (173.100).
In addition, Szymanski placed third among the meet's 17 beam competitors with a mark of 9.775.
Szymanski and the Ball State gymnastics team return to action Sunday at 2 p.m. when they travel to the Stroh Center to battle Bowling Green.
