CharlieTown Live! Radio Expansion With Broadcast Partner WMUN Debuts Saturday Outside Scheumann Stadium
September 06, 2024 | Football, General
MUNCIE, Ind. – Adding one more component to raise the excitement of football Saturdays at Scheumann Stadium this year, Ball State Athletics has partnered with WMUN Radio to create an additional live, tailgating experience for fans as they arrive at the stadium prior to kickoff.
CharlieTown Live! will debut on Saturday at noon, with veteran local sportscaster Mark Foerster directing an hour-long tailgate show that leads into the Cardinals' pregame radio broadcast featuring Voice of the Cardinals Mick Tidrow. Foerster and the WMUN broadcast van will park in CharlieTown and project the now-two-hour pregame show for tailgating fans outside of Gate 4. Fans can listen live from CharlieTown, or tune to 1340 AM, 92.5 FM or by downloading the WMUN App.
Foerster, who directs the WMUN Power Hour weekdays from 4 to 5 p.m., will showcase the Cardinals' tailgating spirit outside the Ball State Alumni Center by featuring fans, coaches, alumni and Ball State Athletics officials. The show comes on the air exactly two hours before kickoff while the Cardinals arrive in team busses and make their way into the stadium along the Cardinal Walk.
Said J Chapman, President of WMUN's parent company Woof Boom Radio, "In Muncie, watching and listening to Ball State Football is a great Fall activity. WMUN is excited to broadcast the games and tell the stories of Cardinal's successes in their 100th season. Woof Boom is proud to say: Chirp, Chirp!"
Added Ball State Director of Athletics Jeff Mitchell, "We were extremely excited when Woof Boom and WMUN approached us with this idea of extending our football game day broadcast. The idea of CharlieTown Live! adds yet another great component to engage our fans outside the stadium. We are proud to be teammates with Woof Boom as we amplify the Ball State spirit within our community."
CharlieTown Live! will showcase all four Ball State football Saturdays in 2024, the 100th season of Ball State Football.
