Women's Swimming & Diving Places 15 on Academic All-MAC Squad

CLEVELAND - - The Ball State women's swimming & diving program placed 15 student-athletes on the 2023-24 Academic All-Mid-American Conference Team as announced by the league office Wednesday (April 17).

Of Ball State's 15 honorees, five earned the honor for the third time in their careers: senior Elizabeth King, senior Sophia Kuehn, senior Mary Kate Phillips, senior Marcella Ribeiro and senior Laura Wright.

Earning the honor for a second time were a quartet of juniors in Neely Agnew, Emma Horton, Hannah Jones and Lilia Newkirk.

The Cardinals also had six first-time award winners in junior Eliza Bader, sophomore Payton Kelly, sophomore Alyssa Messenger, sophomore Haley Sakbun, sophomore Kiran Stauffer and sophomore Callie Tuma.

A total of 158 student-athletes earned the Academic All-MAC distinction in women's swimming & diving by maintaining at least a 3.2 GPA and participating in at least half of the team's contests for the season. First-year students and any college transfers in their first year of residence are not eligible for the award.
