Men’s Tennis Suffers 4-3 Setback at Toledo

TOLEDO, Ohio - The Ball State men's tennis team (7-7, 1-2 MAC) suffered a 4-3 setback at Toledo (7-7, 2-0 MAC) Friday in Mid-American Conference action.
Ball State opened play today losing the doubles point to Toledo after the Rockets took courts No. 1 and No. 3 from BSU by a 6-3 decision.
Toledo then went up 2-0 in the match after the Rockets' No. 1 singles player Pawit Sornlaksup won in straight sets, 6-2, 6-0, over Nathaniel Webster.
Mason Tran earned BSU's first point at the No. 4 slot after posting a 6-3, 6-1 victory versus Cole Cozens.
Toledo pushed its lead to 3-1 when Hanamichi Carvajal beat Vince Orlando on court two and then earned the deciding match point soon after with a win at the No. 6 slot.
Eli Herran continues to run the table this spring earning his 10th singles victory while also remaining undefeated (3-0) in MAC play. Herran tallied a three-set thriller at No. 3 singles versus Toledo's Adam Kovac, 6-2, 4-6, 6-3.
In addition to Herran's victory, Jacks Lancaster came through at the No. 5 slot in a highly competitive three-set win over Poonthong Komolpisut, 2-6, 7-6 (5), 6-4.
The Ball State men's tennis team continues Mid-American Conference action on the road Sunday at Buffalo. First serve is at 11 am ET.
