Rogers and Oriani Named First Team All-MAC

CLEVELAND, Ohio – Following the indoor MAC Championship meet, the Ball State track and field team received multiple postseason accolades. Jenelle Rogers and Jenna Oriani were both named First Team All-MAC and Rogers picked up a specialty award. Â
Rogers was named First Team All-MAC and Most Outstanding Field Performer. At the indoor MAC Championships, Rogers won the pentathlon with a total score of 4056. She won three of the five events, including the 60m hurdles (8.52), shot put (14.33m) and long jump (5.88m). In the open events, Rogers continued to impress with a first-place finish in the long jump (6.26m), and fourth place finishes in both the shot put (14.90m) and the high jump (1.72m). Individually, Rogers earned 29.5 of the Cardinals' 61.50 points. Her efforts qualified her for the NCAA Championships on March 8-9 at New Balance track in Boston, Massachusetts. Â
Oriani was also named First Team All-MAC. She was an essential contributor on the track, earning 21 total points for the Cardinals. In the 400, Oriani secured the championship title, finishing in a time of 55.31. Soon after, she finished fourth in the 200m, running a time of 24.63. Closing out the day, Oriani ran the final leg of the 4x400m relay. In a close race, Oriani crossed the finish line in 3:47.18 to secure the team a third-place finish. Â
Earlier in the season, Oriani captured a new Ball State record in the 300m finishing with a time of 39.48. Â
