Cross Country Finishes Strong at Last Regular Season Meet

BOWLING GREEN, Ohio — In their last meet of the regular season, cross country secured a fifth place finish at the Falcon Invite Friday afternoon on the Mel Brodt Cross Country Course.Â
Carly Spletzer led the team, finishing ninth overall and crossing the finish line with a competitive time of 21:46.3. Sarah Mahnensmith came across next for the Cardinals, finishing 15th with a time of 22:03.9. Close behind was Evie Noel, finishing 17th with a new personal best time of 22:07.2, over a minute faster than her previous best.Â
Shelby Christman finished 33rd, running over a minute faster than her last 6k of the season with a time of 22:40.8. Finishing 41st overall was Tori Jackson, who finished with a personal best time of 23:05.4.Â
In next for the Cardinals was Jessica Velez, finishing 51st with a time of 23:18.1, followed by Jenna Schifferer who finished 71st with a time of 23:57.6.Â
Rounding out the Cardinal squad was Autumn Spence, running a personal best time of 24:04.2, and Kendyl Thrasher with a time of 24:30.3
The team finished with a total of 102 points, landing them the fifth place position among 12 teams.Â
Ball State will now shift their focus to the Mid-American Conference Championships which will take place on Saturday, November 2 at their home cross country course.Â
