January 09, 2024 | Gymnastics
CLEVELAND, Ohio - - For her part in helping guide Ball State to the UNC Quad title, senior gymnast Suki Pfister has been named the Mid-American Conference Specialist of the Week.
Pfister, who earns the honor for the fifth time in her career, opened the 2024 season by tying for top honors on vault at North Carolina's Carmichael Arena with a score of 9.925. The effort tied as the sixth-best vault in the nation and was the best score for a MAC individual on any event opening weekend.
Named the first WCGA All-American in program history last season for her effort on vault, Pfister now has 11 career vault scores of 9.900-or-higher.
Pfister and the Ball State gymnastics team return to action Sunday, when they travel to Ohio State for a tri-meet which includes Towson. Action is set to begin at 2 p.m. at the Covelli Center.
