CLEVELAND - - For their strong efforts at the Ohio State tri-meet Sunday, Ball State gymnastics senior Victoria Henry and freshman Ashley Szymanski have swept this week's Mid-American Conference weekly honors.
Â
Henry earned MAC Gymnast of the Week honors for the second time in her career after tallying the highest score in the MAC so far this season, winning the vault competition with a mark of 9.975. It ties as the second-best score in program history in any event and is currently the second-best vault score in the nation this season.
Â
The effort helped her finish the all-around with a score of 39.325, the best all-around score in the MAC for the week. In addition to her mark on vault, Henry tallied her second-straight 9.900 on floor and added a 9.750 on bars and a 9.700 on beam.
Â
Szymanski earned MAC Specialist of the Week accolades after continuing to shine on bars, winning the event in Sunday's tri-meet with Ohio State and Towson by scoring a career-best 9.900. The effort ties as the highest bars score in the MAC and the 34th-highest bars score in the nation so far this season.
Â
Henry, Szymanski and the rest of the Ball State gymnastics team return to action Friday when they travel to Lebanon, Tennessee, for the Tennessee Collegiate Classic.
Â
