Snowy Conditions Lead to Exciting Turn of Events

IOWA CITY, Iowa – After a long trip to Iowa City in treacherous snowy conditions, the Cardinals opened the University of Iowa's Hawkeye Invitational with their throwing events on Friday evening. Â
Jenelle Rogers led the team in shot put with a fourth-place finish and a throw of 14.32m. Sophie Daugard was close behind with a seventh-place finish. Daugard started off strong with a personal best throw of 13.48m. Her success grew as she finished with another PR throw of 13.70m. Â
Brooklyn Taylor finished with a throw of 12.46m, good for tenth place. Malena Higgins finished with a throw of 11.72m, followed by Kendra Keesling who threw for 10.32m. Â
All other track and field events will continue Saturday morning. High jump is scheduled to kick off field events at 11:00 a.m. CST and running will commence with the unseeded 3000m at 12:15 p.m. CST. Â
