Weatherly Named MAC Player of the Week

CLEVELAND – The Mid-American Conference announced its weekly Player and Pitcher of the Week honors on Monday. Ty Weatherly earned a Pitcher of the Week accolade after a phenomenal week on the mound for Ball State.

Weatherly recorded a career-high 11 strikeouts against Miami. He got the win and improved to 2-3 on the year. He scattered three hits, and none were extra-base hits. He also tallied a career high in innings pitched with seven. He held Miami hitters to a .130 batting average.

"Ty Weatherly was simply marvelous," said Head Coach Rich Maloney. "He commanded four pitches for strikes and gave our team a big lift."

Ball State returns to the road for a midweek contest against Southern Indiana on Tuesday, May 16. First pitch is slated for 7 p.m. ET.
