T&F Finishes Day One of Outdoor Music City Challenge

NASHVILLE, Tenn.—The Ball State track and field team finished day one of the Outdoor Music City Challenge hosted by Vanderbilt.

Jenna Oriani picked up a heat win in the 200m, placing fourth overall in the event. Alana Springer notched a seventh-place finish in the 200m.

Sarah Mahnensmith earned a huge personal best in the 1500m running a 4:34, shaving two seconds off her previous best. Ella Fullmer also ran a personal best in the 1500m, running a 4:52 and shaving a huge six seconds off of her previous time.

Shelby Christman ran her debut in the steeplechase. Her time ranks fifth in the MAC, running a 10:56.

The Cardinals are back in action tomorrow at 11:30 a.m. with the high jump.
