Soccer Adds Three More For 2024 Season

MUNCIE, Ind. - - An Indiana High School legend, a three-star defensive player and one of the top goalkeepers in the state of Indiana are three more highly talented student-athletes set to join the Ball State soccer program for the 2024 season according to head coach Josh Rife.

In addition to the six recruits the Cardinals welcomed in November, the Cardinals have added more depth with a pair of transfers and another signee.

The latest Ball State soccer recruits include:
- Midfielder Addie Chester (Muncie, Ind. / Delta / Louisville / FC Pride)
- Defender Delaney Ahearn (St. Louis, Mo. / Nerinx Hall / Mississippi State / St. Louis Scott Gallagher)
- Goalkeeper Kate Pallante (Westfield, Ind. / Westfield / Indiana Fire)

RIFE ON CHESTER:Â Addie is an exciting, dynamic attacking player who will enhance our offense. She is great on the dribble in 1v1 situations, a strong goal scorer and a great facilitator. We are looking forward to having her join us this spring and get adjusted to the group in preparation for the fall season.

AT LOUISVILLE: Earned two letters for the Cardinals, playing 33 matches over the last two seasons, earning 30 starts … 2023 Season: Started all 18 games … led the Cardinals with 10 points during the 2023 campaign, scoring two goals and handing out six assists … also paced the squad with 30 shots and 10 shots on goal … score goals in the win over Central Michigan (Sept. 3) and a draw versus Wyoming (Sept. 10) … named to the 2023 Academic All-District® Women's Soccer Team, selected by College Sports Communicators … 2022 Season: Played in 15 games, making 12 starts as a true freshman … tallied a pair of assists, including one in the win over No. 23 Memphis.

AT DELTA HIGH SCHOOL: Four-year varsity letterwinner for coach Brytany Pope at Delta High School … named the 2019-20 Gatorade Indiana Girls Soccer Player of the Year after scoring 53 goals and dishing out eight assists as a sophomore at Delta … scored an Indiana state high school single season record 59 goals as a junior, while also leading all Indiana players with 55 goals as a senior … finished her four-year high school career with 201 goals and 36 assists … Second Team All-State as a junior and senior … four-time all-conference honoree … team captain as a junior and senior … 2018 Max Preps Player of the Year and two-time Max Preps Player of the Week … also earned four letters in basketball at Delta and was a two-time all-conference honoree.

CLUB: Played club soccer for FC Pride for five seasons … Two-Time ECNL Ohio Valley Conference Player of the Year … helped guide her program to the ECNL final four in 2020 … also a member of the Indy Eleven Academy summer program… scored two goals and handed out a pair of assists to help the Indy Eleven summer club to an undefeated regular season (10-0-2) in its inaugural year in 2022.

RIFE ON AHEARN:Â We are excited to welcome Delaney to our team. She has been around high-level soccer from her club days with St. Louis Scott Gallagher to her most recent time at Mississippi State. She plays with great composure and toughness, which are great attributes for a defender.

AT MISSISSIPPI STATE: Spent two seasons at Mississippi State, redshirting in 2022 and playing in one match as a redshirt freshman in 2023 … helped the Bulldogs earn a 3-0 shutout victory over Northwestern State (Aug. 24) in her only collegiate action … Mississippi State advanced to the NCAA third round this past season and to the second round her freshman campaign.

AT NERINX HALL HIGH SCHOOL: Three-year varsity letterwinner for coach Brian Haddock at Nerinx High School … named Second Team All-State, First Team All-Region and First Team All-Conference as a senior after helping guide Nerinx Hall to a runner-up finish in the Missouri State Championships …team captain and Nerinx Hall's Defensive Player of the Year as a senior … earned First Team All-Conference as a junior after helping her team finish as state runner-up … helped guide the Markers to district titles as a junior and senior, as well as a sectional title her junior campaign.

CLUB: St. Louis Scott Gallagher … a 3-Star Top Drawer Soccer defender and former team captain for SLSG … named a 2019 Top Drawer Soccer ECNL Playoff standout … member of the ECNL u-15 Midwest championship squad in 2018.

RIFE ON PALLANTE:Â Kate is someone that we have seen a lot over the past few years, and she has continued to grow in her technical abilities as well as her leadership and presence. As she grew more confident her play continued to rise with it. We look forward to her continued growth and development while here at Ball State.

AT WESTFIELD HIGH SCHOOL: Earned two varsity letters at Westfield High School … ranked 33rd in the state with a 0.691 goals against average as a senior, allowing just 11 goals over 18 matches and 1,274 minutes of action … made 113 saves her senior campaign … tallied 10 clean sheets as a senior, while helping Westfield to a 10-3-5 record … First Team All-State and First Team All-Conference as a senior … maintained a 1.429 goals against average as a junior, allowing 20 goals while making 150 saves over 17 matches and 1,120 minutes of play … collected three shutouts as a junior, helping Westfield to a 6-7-4 mark … team MVP as a junior and senior … team Defensive Player of the Year as a junior … academic all-state as junior and senior.
