Kennedy Earns Second MAC West Offensive Player Of The Week Honor

CLEVELAND - - For the second time this season, Ball State women's volleyball redshirt freshman Aniya Kennedy has been named the Mid-American Conference West Division Offensive Player of the Week.
Kennedy, who first earned the honor Sept. 18, turned in a pair of career performances to guide the Cardinals to back-to-back road wins last weekend. She started with a then-career high 17 kills, a .273 (17-5-44) hitting percentage and a career-best four digs in the win at Miami (Oct. 6).
Kennedy followed by establishing a new career high with 21 kills and a .214 hitting mark in the win at Bowling Green (Oct. 7). Kennedy also tallied seven total blocks on the week, with four against the RedHawks and three versus the Falcons.
Her effort help Ball State improve to 6-0 in MAC play and run its current winning streak to seven matches.
Kennedy and the Ball State women's volleyball program return to action Thursday with the first of back-to-back league matches versus Akron in Worthen Arena. First serve is set for 6 p.m.
