Kelly Named MAC Women's Swimmer of the Week

CLEVELAND - After picking up a pair of event wins at the Dan Ross Indiana Intercollegiate, sophomore Payton Kelly has been named the Mid-American Conference Women's Swimmer of the Week.

Kelly, who earns the award for the first time this season and the third time in her career, took home top honors in both the 50 freestyle (23.12) and 100 freestyle (50.82) at last Saturday's the 10-team meet.

She also swam leadoff for the 200 freestyle relay with a 50 freestyle split of 22.64, which is currently the fastest 50 freestyle in the MAC this season. Her 100 freestyle time of 50.82 is currently fourth in the league.

The Ball State women's swimming & diving program returns to action Friday, Sept. 28, when it travels to Buffalo for an 11 a.m. contest at the Alumni Arena Natatorium and Dorsi Raynolds Pool.
