MUNCIE, Ind. – Cameron Andry has been named the head women's golf coach at Ball State, director of athletics Beth Goetz announced Tuesday. Andry arrives in Muncie after spending the previous 11 seasons at nearby Taylor University.
"Cam's success at Taylor has been truly impressive, and we're excited to bring one of our own Ball State grads back home to build on the success of our women's golf program," Goetz said. "His rise to success has been built on the foundation of developing his student-athletes to win on and off the course."
At Taylor, Andry was the director of golf in which he oversaw both the men's and women's golf programs. During his tenure, the Trojans won 10 Crossroads League titles and recorded top-11 finishes at the NAIA National Championship four times.
"Along with my family, I am elated to be returning to my alma mater as the leader of the Ball State women's golf program," Andry said. "I would like to express my gratitude to President Geoffrey Mearns, director of athletics Beth Goetz and deputy athletics director Shawn Sullivan for this opportunity. Ball State is a special place with tremendous resources, and I am excited to begin the work of building a championship program here."
While serving as the men's coach, Andry helped facilitate the establishment of the women's program at Taylor in 2012. From 2012-22, the Trojans captured four Crossroads League championships (2017, 2018, 2019, 2021) and finished second at the NAIA National Championship in 2021.
During the same time frame, Andry coached the men's team to six consecutive conference crowns from 2016-22 and improved the program's Golfstat ranking from 118 to 8.
Combined between the two programs, Andry coached 46 all-conference performers and 14 All-Americans while racking up 79 tournament victories. For his efforts, Andry has been named the conference coach of the year 10 times.
In the classroom under Andry's guidance, the Trojans earned NAIA Scholar Team honors each of the last nine seasons. In addition, the men's team held the highest team GPA in the conference in eight of the last nine seasons.
No stranger to Muncie, Andry graduated from Ball State in 2009 after earning a bachelor's degree in telecommunications. He was a four-year letterwinner at Paoli High School in Paoli, Ind., where he was a two-time all-conference player.
