Schweitzer Earned ABCA/Rawlings All-America Second Team Honor

GREENSBORO, N.C. – The American Baseball Coaches Association announced its annual NCAA DI All-America Teams on Friday. Tyler Schweitzer represented the Ball State baseball team with an All-America Second Team nod after a masterful season on the mound for the Cardinals.
After being named the MAC Pitcher of the Year, earning a spot on the All-MAC First Team, a Collegiate Baseball Second Team All-American honor, and an ABCA Midwest All-Region First Team accolade, Schweitzer earned a spot on the ABCA All-America Second Team. He was a three-time MAC Pitcher of the Week honoree throughout the season. He finished the year with an 11-2 record. His 11 wins is tied for the second most in the NCAA this year and are tied for the third most in a single season in Ball State history. He recorded 122 strikeouts on the season, which is tied for 22nd in the NCAA and was third in the MAC. He finished third in the MAC with an ERA of 2.65 and led the conference with 91 2/3 innings of work. He held opponents to a .205 batting average for the course of the season.
Schweitzer is the fourth Cardinal to earn an ABCA/Rawlings All-America second team honor and is the first since Alex Call in 2016.
