Rivera Named MAC Co-Player of the Week

CLEVELAND – The Mid-American Conference announced its weekly Player and Pitcher of the Week on Tuesday. Matthew Rivera was named the MAC Co-Player of the Week after an outstanding weekend at the plate for Ball State.
Rivera led the Cardinals with a .615 batting average and posted a 1.308 slugging percentage. He tied for the team lead with two home runs. He drove in 11 RBIs and led the squad with 17 total bases for the weekend. He was walked a team-high six times. He hit two home runs in the third game of the series, which included a grand slam. He also drew a walk-off walk in the third game of the series as the run-rule was put in effect.
The Cardinals are scheduled to return to action on Friday, March 25, for game one of a four-game series at Western Michigan.
