Teter Named MAC Specialist of the Week
February 22, 2022 | Gymnastics
CLEVELAND, Ohio - - For her role in helping secure a program record team score of 196.325 in last Sunday's dual win over Eastern Michigan, Ball State junior Megan Teter has been named the Mid-American Conference Gymnastics Specialist of the Week.
Â
When the Cardinals needed just one of its final two routine to hit for a program-record team score against the Eagles, Teter entered the floor. Looking for a 9.675-or-higher to secure the record, Teter delivered that and more. She registered the seventh-best floor routine in program history, and the best of her collegiate career, scoring a 9.925.
Â
It was easily Ball State's best floor routine of the season, with the previous best of 9.875 coming twice earlier in the meet, and ties as the second-best floor routine in the MAC so far this season.
Â
The effort helped Ball State finish the meet with a program-record team score of 196.325, which is also the second-best team score in the MAC so far this season.
Â
In addition to her floor routine, Teter counted a season-best 9.850 on bars, giving her 19.775 points over two routines. Those two routines came on the heels of Teter being named a Ball State Top 100 Student earlier in the week.
Â
Teter and the rest of the Ball State gymnastics team return to action Friday, when they travel to Northern Illinois for a 7 p.m. ET / 6 p.m. CT league dual.
